2008/2009 EXAMPLES OF IN-YEAR PROJECTS
Building 2, Redford Cavalry Barracks, Edinburgh.
The conversion of a former stable building into a new Headquarters for Reserve Forces and Cadets Piping and Drumming. A listed building, the stables will be retained and encapsulated within the new interior. DDA Compliancy will be achieved by the installation of appropriate toilet facilities and access ramp.
New Glasgow Base for the Army Recruiting Team
To support the Team in their efforts a new, modular, building has been provided with all essential services and the space to develop new recruiting initiatives. It is fully integrated into the Ministry of Defence IT systems.
Air Training Corps Adventure Training Centre, Galashiels
Originally opened in 1960, the refurbishment of the centre will provide greatly enhanced accommodation and facilities for up to 30 cadets, male and female, together with 8 adult instructors. The Centre offers segregated overnight accommodation, with en-suite facilities, kitchen and dining room. A new external lift will be installed to ensure that the facilities can be accessed by all.

ATC/ACF Killin Street, Glasgow
The site currently contains three Cadet buildings, the oldest dating from the 1950’s, and an undersized tube Range. (The Army Cadet Hut is shown as demolition commences) A new joint building will be built providing a shared drill hall, toilets and servery with dedicated classrooms, stores and offices for each of the detachments. A second phase of work will replace the tube range.
